Our Winter season teams are now announced. Teams for Winter 2021 (updated Mar 9)
Team allocation is never an easy task, and this season it has been extra challenging with the cancelled 2020 season and no grading sessions. Our age group co-ordinators have referenced teams from the cancelled season, as well as getting feedback from coaches and we have welcomed some new players. Please remember that many players have moved age groups meaning we could not replicate teams from 2020. Fortunately this season starts with practice rounds and grading games, so we have some flexibility and ability to move players between teams if needed. We also plan to train age groups at the same time – which will mean friends get to train together and coaches can get a good sense of the optimal team allocations before the formal competition starts.
Putting teams together is generally not an easy task, regardless of whether you are graded, or friendship based. If your initial thoughts are that you are unhappy with the team selection, we ask that you please have a look at all teams in the age group; consider our team selection criteria (which is available on the website) and talk to your child. A season with new players opens up new friendships or rekindles old ones and gives your child access to another way to play the game. After this review, if you are still not satisfied then please feel free to contact the club President to discuss. firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that the club reserves the right to move players within the first few weeks of the season if the committee/Age Group Coordinator thinks that individual players have been placed in the wrong division or if we need to balance numbers within teams of the same age group. Movement may also occur related to change of player numbers as an impact of the COVID response. For more information on Scorpions Team Allocation and Grading please click here.
